Following careful consideration of the weather forecast for Thursday, we have taken the decision to postpone our Open Evening and reschedule it for Wednesday 30th September.

The forecast indicates temperatures significantly above seasonal norms during the afternoon and evening. Given the large number of visitors expected on site, together with the involvement of our pupils and staff in preparing for and supporting the event, we believe postponement is the most sensible course of action in the interests of the health, safety and wellbeing of everyone involved.

We would like to thank the many pupils who volunteered to support the evening as tour guides and departmental ambassadors. We are extremely grateful for their willingness to give their time and look forward to welcoming them back to assist with the rearranged event.

The school day on Thursday will continue as planned. Pupils will finish after lunch (approximately 1:30pm), as previously communicated, and school transport arrangements will operate according to the timetable which was arranged well in advance.

We appreciate that this change may cause disappointment and inconvenience. However, we are confident that postponing the event will allow us to provide the best possible experience for prospective families when conditions are more suitable, while ensuring that the health, safety and wellbeing of all attendees remain our priority.

Further details about the rescheduled Open Evening on Wednesday 30th September will be shared closer to the event. However, we wanted to provide students, parents and carers with as much notice as possible to help with planning arrangements.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Kind Regards,

Mr C Pollitt
Head of School
